Who runs Edgmond Village Hall?

The Village Hall is a registered charity (810315).

 

It is run by the Village Hall Management Committee. The people on the Management Committee are also the Charity Trustees. The Committee has to comply with Charity Law and with the regulatory requirements that apply to public buildings. The Committee must also ensure that the charity is run in accordance with its stated charitable objectives.

 

The Committee comprises up to 8 ELECTED members (ET), up to 3 CO-OPTED members (CT), plus 1 REPRESENTATIVE member (RT) from each community group that chooses to nominate a member. The community groups are listed in the Governing Document.

 

The elected Trustees are elected at the AGM (usually in June) and serve for one year. There is no limit to how many times a Committee Member may be re-elected. There are currently (Jan 2013) 14 Charity Trustees: a quorum would be FIVE trustees.

 

The Chairman is TIM GIBBS (RT).

 

The Vice Chairman is HELEN TURNER (ET).

 

The Treasurer is MATT PARTRIDGE (ET).

 

The Secretary is PAULA DOHERTY (ET).

 

Other members are LUKE BAKER (ET), JULIAN BARRATT (RT), BILL BARTON (ET), RICHARD CHESTERS (RT), ANDREW COLES (ET), JAMES COOPER (RT), ANNE GREEN (CT), SUE JONES (ET), PETE STERLING (ET), RACHEL STOREY (CT).

 

The Committee usually meets on the third Monday of the month.
